Asalaam alikum Sister. I went through a similar time. I wrote about it. Hijab is hard. It needs to come from the heart. As converts, we are encouraged to wear hijab without knowing why or even having that desire that comes from Allah yet. We have been denied the normal rites of passage that most Muslim girls go through around puberty where they are allowed to put it on when they are ready (not all Muslim cultures do it this way, but many do and should.) Converts are expected to put it on as soon as they take their shahada. But hijab needs to be grown into, just as a young girl grows into her womanhood. Do not feel bad for needing the time to explore why you would want to wear it. I did and it was the best decision ever (besides becoming a Muslim in the first place). Now I have worn it consistently for over 10 years. Now, even when it is hot or just annoying, I know WHY I do. And that makes it possible to continue. I pray you find your own reasons and that Allah inspires the desire and love for it in the future when you are ready.
