I did too in America. Unfortunately, over here it isn't as much of an option since we don't have thrift stores like in America and there is a social stigma about buying used, though I try. There are people who sell used goods at the bazaars (usually extremely poor Roma). I always check and see if they have something I could use for multiple reasons: to save money, prevent buying cheap goods from countries I don't want to support, and to buy from people in my community which is always preferable to buying from some huge company. The used market is not as much of a thing over here as poor people rarely have the funds to end up with extra stuff they can just give away or sell. Things get used until they are dead. This is changing as people's fortunes are starting to chaange, but the facilities for donating are just not in place. The Roma are known to go through the garbage to find goods to resell, which is much of the current used market right now.
