It is. I wish the world were a place where that could be true. Not wearing a scarf doesn't guarantee safety, unfortunately. Since there is danger in so many ways (especially for women), I have decided to not live my life according to others' expectations or in a way that compromises my beliefs. I do not begrudge anyone a different choice.

I have also been privileged enough to be able to move to a country where wearing a headscarf is not a big deal and there is no danger in it, alhamdulillah, unlike in America.
