It just occurred to me that I used the term "ride sharing" in a way that might not mean what you think I mean. I have never lived in a city with Uber, Lyft, or any other ride share companies, so that term is not in my usual vernacular. What I meant in the article is people actually hitching rides with one another. Or sharing taxis. That is very common. Taxis are everywhere, so even if there aren't any of the ride share companies available, finding a taxi is never hard. I recommend asking for a business card or the driver's Viber number if they work for themselves (most people use Viber here) so you can call them again when you need a ride. I also just take pictures of the number on the side of the taxis from larger companies. I keep a list so I never have to worry. I have only been stuck someplace once when my nephew borrowed our car and we couldn't get a taxi. This was before I started my list, it was 10 PM, and we were in a very small town. We walked a ways and then a nice woman gave us a ride for the rest. People are so nice here and it is quite safe (though women alone should always be careful where ever they are in the world. I was with my husband.)
