Keeping clothing, shoes, electronics, etc longer term and not replacing them fast and cheap is not going to happen without the industries to fix those items. Tailors, cobblers, etc.
Where I live in Kosovo, we actually still have those industries. Even our tiny town has a tailor and 2 dressmakers. We don't have far to go to find a cobbler, a TV repairman, and phone repair stores. But where I lived in America, only a few places fixed some things on a phone. Nothing else was available. Those jobs aren't even taught anymore.
I agree things need to change, but all I see is that TikTok and other platforms are only encouraging buying cheap and fast. And where there are customers, industry will find a way.
