Shapiro is an idiot. He was obviously trying to not exclude women who had hysterectomies but he clearly doesn't know that when a woman has that surgery, they also take her cervix. As you said, it doesn't even matter because how do you even check?
I married into a different culture/language. I have found it very common for people speaking English as their second language to mix their pronouns up. I am not sure if this is a common problem with all ESL speakers or just the Albanians I am familiar with. I have learned not to care too much about the mistake (or correcting it) because it is usually not productive to the interaction. Plus, I have found out that I have made the same mistake myself when speaking Albanian. The only time it actually matters is when the mix up leads to confusion in following whom the speaker is speaking about. Pronouns exist to make our speech easier, not harder. Both sides of this argument need to remember that and relax a bit.
